Hi, I'm Regina Joseph
I'm running for a board seat at West Village Houses in 2023.
As shareholders in WVH, we face a future that requires ingenuity, innovation and fresh ideas to preserve our investments.
I purchased my home in WVH just last year in August of 2022, and in that short time I've acquired a keen sense of WVH's opportunities and challenges. By volunteering for a wide range of WVH roles--like secretarial duties for the WVH House Committee, producing documents to help shareholders understand WVH's energy issues, and contributing to everything from Easter party decoration to AKAM Management Office queries--I've developed an understanding of the community's needs on a granular level.

The one thing I believe all WVH shareholders want is a reduction in the uncertainty and stress we've all felt about the future of our homes. A new mind-set and approach are needed to reduce last minute meetings and cancellations, politicization and rancor.

I believe my uncommon professional background and experience can uniquely serve WVH by tackling our problems and pursuing novel strategies for our preservation and growth.

I will target:
-
Revenue Generation
-
Energy Cost Reduction
-
Climate Change Resilience
-
Infrastructural Improvement
-
Quality of Life Issues

WVH 2.0:
What Can We Learn From Jane Jacobs' Legacy?
Jane Jacobs' advocacy for intelligent urban land use remains as relevant now as it was in her heyday. Her philosophy of prioritizing preservation, neighborhoods and the needs of communities over corporate and oligarchic agendas enabled the construction of WVH.
But it is time for what I call WVH 2.0. Challenging macroeconomic realities require clever, strategic thinking. Using the same focal points Jane Jacobs used--harnessing the skills, capabilities and energy of our residents--and applying some modern techniques, can help shore up our infrastructural and financial stability.

My WVH 2.0 concept is designed to bring together both the original WVH constituents--a cohort whose creativity and savvy should be more effectively engaged--and market-rate investors as a team in ensuring an equitable future for all WVH shareholders.
